AND THE ANYENE'S GOES HOME...

Adewunmi kafayat

The devastating effect of the Dana Plane Crash on the Anyene’s family was brought to fore again when the family pays its last respect to the six members who died in the ill fated Dana plane that crashed in Lagos last month.
The six members of the Anyene family include – Onyeka (44), his wife Maimuna (33) and four children namely Kamsiyonna, (3) Kainetochi, (2) Kaimarachi (2) and Kobichimee, (five months), who died in the Dana Airline crash last month in Lagos, were given a last burial at their home town, Ndiowu in Orumba North local government area of Anambra state in the most sober and solemn mood.

It was a horrible and devastating sight to behold when two ambulances carrying the six caskets arrived at Ndiowu at 10 am. The coffin carrying the body of the late Onyeka, the family head was taken into the edifice he built while he was still alive. After some few hours of burial rites, the bodies were immediately taken to Lawrence Anglican Church for funeral service.

The families who died in the ill fated plane crash in Lagos on sunday were described as an easy going and loving family.Different government officials attended the burial ceremony including Senator Andy Uba representing Anambra South in the senate, Senator Joy Emodi who is the presidential adviser on national assembly matters, former vice president, Dr. Alex Ekwueme , members of the national and state assemblies, as well as other traditional rulers.

It was an uncontrollable tears when the caskets were being brought down from the ambulances as people continue to ask the all important question of why the Anyenes should experience such death harvest even when the 44 year old Onyeka was seen as a philanthropist when he was alive.

Rest in peace, the anyene's.....
