Ace broadcaster and cultural icon, Ambassador Olusegun
Olusola goes home today as eminent Nigerians paid him last respects at his
country home, Iperu, Ogun state.
It was indeed a celebration of life for the late icon as dignitaries
who included the state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, members of the
diplomatic corps, artistes, playwrights among others graced the event and showered
encomiums on the creator of the television soap opera ‘The village headmaster’.
The bishop of Methodist cathedral, Diocese of Remo central,
Bishop Gboyega Ohu, during the funeral
service lamented both moral decadence and poor leadership in the country.
According to him, the country might not know peace, progress
and security until the political class heed to the wishes of the poor masses
and improve their lots.
“Mandela had millions of opportunities to enrich himself
while in office but did not do so in the interest of the masses but Nigerian leaders
only have interest in what they could scooped from the ‘Nigerian Goldmine’ he
added.
Ohu however urged Nigerians to learn from the life of former
President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela.
